How should we regard our children?

As a parent we can’t help asking question if we are good enough for our children. But after learning the passage in Psalm 127:3-5. We learn to surrender all our worries as a parent to God. I know God will be there to guide us to co-parent with my children.

“3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” Psalm 127:3-5

In these verses, children are described as a heritage, a gift, and a reward from the Lord. They are compared to arrows in the hands of a warrior, symbolizing their potential and the importance of nurturing and guiding them in the right direction. The imagery of a full quiver suggests that having many children is considered a source of blessing and strength.

This psalm highlights the value of family and the role of parents in raising and guiding our children. It reminds us the responsibility and privileges of parenting, and how children play a vital role in continuing the legacy of their parents and contributing positively to society.

Remember that every child is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Parenting involves flexibility, adaptability, and constant learning. Above all, regard your children with a deep sense of love and appreciation, for they are precious gifts entrusted to your care.
