“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
The scripture fulfilled the day of atonement. According to Leviticus chapter 16, the high priest shall present two goats on the day of atonement for the atonement for Israel. Lots shall be cast on them to know which one will be used for sin offering and the one for scape goat.
The goat for the sin offering shall be killed and the blood sprinkled upon the altar and to purify the holy place. This will be done after the high priest has made atonement for himself with a bullock.
Then he shall lay hands on the head of the scape goat and confess the sin of Israel upon the live scape goat. The live scape goat shall then be led into the wilderness where no one lives, to take the sin of Israel away.
During the crucifixion of Jesus, He fulfilled these two. On the cross, through His shed blood, He fulfilled the first goat which was killed and then purify us, the temple of God.
As He was buried, He took away our sin into the wilderness where no one lives (grave).
Through the death of Jesus on the cross, He has carried our pain, sorrows, lack, sin, curses etc upon Himself. He said it is finished. He has finished the work on the cross. We just need to connect to the victory on the cross for the physical manifestation of the victory in our lives. To have these victory the Lord has given us on the cross, we have our roles to play. The devil is really contending against our physical manifestation of the finished work of the cross in our lives. But if we have faith and allow the Holy Spirit to fully lead us, we shall always experience the physical manifestation of the finished work of Calvary in our lives.
